Here we go: LAST DAY for Element/Principles You have been exploring the elements and principles of design by taking images that best represent these ideas. This cycle is going to be a working session showcasing your best. I put post below for your reference to the elements/principles content (you can find it on Schoology too)
You are going to be editing and adding your images to a montage like we have done before, and submitting it to Schoology. Here’s what you need to do:
- Choose a theme for you montage and edit 6 images( that you took and are recent) that represent the following
- Emphasis
- Balance
- Unity
- Contrast
- Movement/Rhythm
- Pattern/Repetition
- Once you have edited your 6 images, create an 8″ x 10″ 150res montage titled “Elements/Principles of Photography.”
- On the page, you should include:
- Title “Elements and Principles of Photography”
- Name and Day
- Add your six images and add labels to them that point out what principle is best represented and all the elements that are in the photo.
- There should only be 1 principle for each, but you can use multiple elements.
- Once completed, flatten your image, save as a .jpeg and upload to Schoology.
Looking ahead: We will take a look portraits.

Before the break, we explored the principles and elements of photography. I add the resources again for your reference below. After reviewing the content below (and with your teachers permission) you are charged with getting at least 2 images that represent each principle of photography. What about the elements? Great question! Remember, elements are the building blocks of principles, so I should see the elements in each and every image as well! You will have two days to scour the school to find images to complete this task. If you can not find adequate images, then you must complete the assignment for homework.
